I’m having a bit of a hard time dislodging myself from the woodstove recently. Unless it’s a really sunny quiet day the windows don’t let in enough warmth yet, and if I’m not moving around a lot I’m like a lizard, sluggish unless heated from the outside.
You’d think after all that waiting one would be careful to perfect the last leg of the journey, right? Not around here we don’t…
.. as last Sunday. Collect, carry, climb, cache. The house looks just as cluttered as always, so it seems incredible that all this other stuff was ever in here. I dare not imagine a scenario where I’d have to put it all back.
Big loom is still tied up in the old room with no weft to show, so I’m postponing a decision about the tapestry loom as well; but I think I’ll have to make room for it up there until the kittens are older, perhaps bring it back downstairs in winter? Meanwhile ideas keep pushing and shoving at the floodgates, I swear it’s like Black Friday. Only they change; last month they wanted me to paint, those entities have now despaired and left, the weaving muses taking the current shift, taunting me with woollen yoga mats looking like a patch of meadow, as well as deep red madder and oak leaf yarns of intricate designs. Fairy cloak colours, indigo and japanese ikat.

I hope you all have a great weekend – right now I need to get up or be faced with 2 hours of chair duty with Arthur. Either that or feed him, which is not going to happen. So I think I’ll grab one of my pills and go look at those windows I was ranting about the other day. Maybe even finish them?

So this is Monday and I promised myself I’d write something most days even if it would never get published. Woke to the sound of rain being hammered against the window, so you know you’ll find me inside, possibly not even braving the short trip through the stable, up the ladder, into my construction site.
I’ve been thinking about what I want to work on once my room is done. Things that are too messy / require lots of space to spread out, which I don’t have here.
