All done and ready to gift. I have a bit of warp left over and intend to play with various combinations. You can’t change the threading sequence without cutting off the warp ends and pull them off the shafts, which uses a lot of yarn AND time, but I’m planning on hoping to making a warp sometime for just that purpose and weave little samples of all sorts of patterns.

beautiful, subtle work Pia. I love it. I can imagine you there steadily pushing that shuttle through the shed of weft yarn, beating them back slowly and carefully moving on and on. Weaving is such a wonderful meditative occupation. thank you.

Thanks a lot! 🙂 The funny thing is, it’s much faster than knitting. But it does take some level of concentration which is really great against monkey mind. And there’s just this odd fascination / satisfaction of seeing fabric appear in front of you.
Wonderfully classic looking. I really like the pattern of the scarf. Weaving is a mysterious art/craft to me, all those threads … it makes me think of maths and I am hopeless with numbers. 🙂
😀 I’m not much of a numbers person myself, it’s more of a spacial awareness really. If can read knitting lace charts, you can read and design a weave draft. And if you ease up on it with a simple rigid heddle loom… But one can’t do everything of course, I’ve yet to look at felting for instance. One topic at a time works best.
