Last month I received a gift of handmade, natural soaps and now that I’ve been using them I can definitely say that they keep their promise. In between cats, horses, paint, dye chemicals, gardening and the usual reasons, I wash my hands a lot and had been noticing that my knuckles have become very dry and scruffy over the winter. Now that is completely gone without any use of lotion, my hands are very soft again.

Studio project 12
I realized that while I’ve shown glimpses from my room after finishing, I never officially wrote the last post of our building project. I’m still waiting for one set of shelves for books and weaving gear, but that requires a remodelling of G’s office, so I’ll count that as improvement rather than part of the “done”.
More chaos (studio project 11)
Just as the studio was all lovely and tidy with space to work in, things have been thrown into disarray and corners stacked high with stuff.
And it’s because because because:
So now I have to figure out what to do with this Expedit bookcase, looks like it needs to go back in the house.
Sorry, haven’t been making anything lately to show. I never learned to love that rug and since it was too harsh on my body I cut it off before it reached full size. It can be used to catch shuttles however until I find or make something else. Onwards!
Cold, cold April

I’m having a bit of a hard time dislodging myself from the woodstove recently. Unless it’s a really sunny quiet day the windows don’t let in enough warmth yet, and if I’m not moving around a lot I’m like a lizard, sluggish unless heated from the outside.
Studio project 8
Almost done, one more wall to paint and I can move in – my arms will only do one at a time, and they need 3 layers. I wanted to take pics before filling the place up with junk though, so I thought I might as well show a little panorama.
The “bridge” has been turned into “balconies” at each end.
Last installment of this series and more photos will happen when I’ve made myself comfortable. Getting stuff up there may take a while, though, and first I need to find a vaccuum cleaner that really sucks.
