Well, I have the most wonderful studio now. It could easily be twice as big, but it shines because A. I built it my very own self and B. it’s so dead quiet and calm and lovely, it’s to die for.

8/21 days – Inspiration

Nature more than anything is what inspires me. Not to copy in painting, because I have a camera for that, but the energy, the impressions, the joy of having open horizons and weather all around you, the wildlife I see every day just outside my window. All the colours of the garden and the sunset, the seasons.

7/21 days – Colour palette

This could refer to the surface you mix your paint on, or groups of colours that you feel go well together. I use paper plates or a couple of plexiglas/perspex squares, one gets thrown out, the other gets scraped off, so that’s quite dull to talk about, let’s move on to colour, my favourite stimulant. (I do admit to sometimes saving a plate for a little while if it has a good combo, but mostly I throw them out when they get too bumpy)
