The weather is too dark and dreary to be taking photos today, so you’ll have to wait a while for the first dye results I promised.
Instead I stumbled across an old photo, it was scanned from a negative many years ago when internet connections were much slower and hard drives a lot smaller, so I don’t have these images any larger.
I never could decide which version I liked the best, how about you? (maybe you don’t like them – that’s ok too)
I have so many negatives, so even if I can’t afford a new camera house when my current fails (hoping not to jinx it here, it’s definitely a senior), I do have image material enough to last me a lifetime of play in Photoshop. I just know I’d miss the thrill of the click…. 😉
Wait?! But I’m having to live vicariously off of your dye experiments!
And…
the first picture.
love the second one Pia. It has the feeling of a heather mixture in yarn!
Well, I might just make one! Good observation.
I would be interested to know how it’s done!
Well, technically to put in the nepps in a tweed yarn you need to card the fibers and I hate to handcard, it’s very slow. I would love to have a drumcarder but can’t really justify the cost just now. But if I do, I’ll remember to make an illustrated how-to.
that sounds very fiddly Pia. No wonder they hold such a special place among yarns!
Photographcally first version, insprationally version 2, it is wonderful to look back on old images especially ones before the digital age.
Last night I dreamed I saw a Snipe just a few yards from me I got out my camera but the shutter would not work, I changed the lens again it would not work and the snipe was still there, I changed ithe lens again and got several shots…… what a strange dream I wonder what it ment??? 😉

Hi Susan, thanks for dropping by and commenting! 🙂 Strange dream indeed, reminds me a bit about the dreams I sometimes have that I get letters but my eyes can’t seem to focus on them when I try to read, I wake up thinking, what message in life am I avoiding to see? At least you persevered and got your shots in the end! 😉
Thanks LOL we have the answers to our dreams 😉

Hi. The two feel very different. I like the first, because it reminds me of the cottony feel of our woods in winter. The second also has its charm but is very dark. Jane
