Working on a million things, taking my good time finishing any of them. I’ve started making colour samples as little mini paintings in my sketchbook instead of just blobs on a row, here’s a couple to fill the gap (need to work on my figurative skills):

Actual doodling
I’ve noticed another interesting tendency when it comes to drawing and doodling, but felt I was running out of space in my last post.
25 years ago without internet, when I doodled it was MY creatures and shapes, I thought they were funny and original. These days, because there are so many pretty things to ogle, I see my tastes run exactly the same course as everybody elses.

How long has it been since I “promised” to perform daily doodles and new postcards? 3 years? Well, I think we can safely say that it’s probably not my thing to commit to daily fixed tasks at all, because I haven’t done much of either. Continue reading “Doodle time?”
Markers on canvas
While I don’t draw all that well, for the usual reason that I haven’t practiced enough, I do sometimes want the option of making lasting outlines to a painted object or just make squiggles and doodles without resorting to stamps or trying to painstakingly get a smooth, uninterupted but still swishy and loose line with a thin brush which has to be dipped every stroke.

Prepping pages
Sarah generously offered to send me all of her leftover craft paints, when I complained about the “good” acrylics being too sticky for books, so I’ve been testing them a bit to see how that works.
